LIVE EVENTS AND TV SPECIALS
Regardless of the size and scope of your event, Sonic Designs can provide for all your needs, be it system design, mixing, post-production, or content creation. Our experience in these areas has enabled us to work on large scale musicals for television such as Annie Live, the Wiz Live, and we won an Emmy for our work on Jesus Christ Superstar Live.
We have designed and mixed for the VMA’s, the Tony Awards, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for HBO, the Global Citizen Concerts, the NHL Stadium series; the 2020 presidential debates in Las Vegas, Atlanta, and Charleston as well as the Obama, Trump, and Biden inaugurations. Our credits include Sting’s Rainforest Benefit Concerts, as well as the New York Philharmonic for the re-opening “We Love New York” concert, produced by Clive Davis.
TV STUDIO DESIGN
TV studios require unique solutions in sound delivery. They need to produce clear, intelligible dialog to the studio audience, without creating problems for the air mix. The Late Show, The Trevor Noah Show, America’s Big Deal, The View, Who Wants to be a Millionaire, Last Week Tonight, Survivor and America’s Got Talent are just a sampling of the shows for which we have created designs.
CUSTOM AUDIO SOLUTIONS
During our 30-year tenure with the famed Radio City Christmas Spectacular, we created a customized random-access playback system, as well as an innovative design for the wireless tap shoe system that included software for remote access and tracking of the individual shoes of each and every Rockette.
For the NBA Restart during COVID, we were tasked with recreating the crowd experience for both the players and the home audience. We were responsible for the creation of all aspects of the crowd content, and its implementation in all the arenas within the “bubble” to create a truly realistic attended game environment.
POST PRODUCTION AND VIRTUAL EXPERIENCES
Very often the video elements for multi-media events require specific mastering of the audio for optimal playback in the large venues where they take place. We have mastered elements for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremonies as well as the ABC, CBS, YouTube, and Amazon Upfronts.
For the Shakespeare at Home series, Sonic Designs produced performances in the tradition of the serialized radio drama, creating soundscapes that brought to life the Shakespearean era. We also produced virtual concert experiences for the New York Pops Orchestra. We captured the music content for these performances as well as oversaw the integration of the video elements of the performances.
